I have been a creative all of my life and have been involved in a variety of creative businesses throughout the years. I have 20+ years of experience as a creative teacher and would love to share that with you.

– ABOUT US-
KJ DeWaal is an artist/photographer who has been involved in creative endeavors throughout her life. She has received an Advanced Diploma in Photography, an Advanced Diploma in Adobe Photoshop, a Diploma in Smartphone Photography, and a Diploma in Adobe Lightroom from Shaw Academy. KJ has also taken photography classes from Jim Montanus, a well-renowned photographer in the Rochester area.
KJ enjoys photographing still life, landscape, macro, and lifestyle images. Her images have won numerous awards in photo contests and have been very well received. She is also an avid digital artist creating art on the go using her iPhone X and iPad Pro. She teaches in-person and online workshops throughout the year. She and her husband Doug aka “The Mr.” have built their creative business together. With each having an intrinsic role. Her in front of the scenes and him behind the scenes. Without the 2 together as a team, it just wouldn’t work.
They have been married for over 30 years. Together, they have raised their two littles to become successful and productive adults. They are very proud of both of them and can confidently say they are their greatest accomplishments in life.
Now that they are empty nesters, KJ and the Mr. have been traveling, camping, hiking, and antiquing on a regular basis. This provides many photo opportunities as well as inspiring original artworks. KJ often posts about their adventures on her Facebook page in a segment called “Adventures with the Mr.” If you want to keep up with the adventures, be sure to check it out.
They have a love for vintage and rustic items which you will see reflected in their shop. KJDeWaal.com was created so that they could share their creative passion along with those loves, artwork, and beautiful imagery with others who also enjoy living a creative and joyful life.
